365 DAYS OF INSIGHT BY & FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE/HAD BREAST CANCER

I'M SUSANNAH HAARMANN, CREATOR OF KICKPINK
Asheville, North Carolina, USA

People who have/had breast cancer deserve to know how to navigate the side effects of breast cancer treatment for optimal recovery & LIVING!

As a physical therapist I have seen the many side effects of breast cancer treatment that are preventable & can be alleviated with rehabilitation go undiagnosed and untreated. I train medical and rehab practitioners how to assess, prevent & treat these side effects, but, in my experience, patients are their own best advocates.

KickPink is  here to help people who have/had breast cancer heal; mind, body & spirit. In addition to training practitioners, KickPink is creating online resources for people who have/had breast cancer get information & inspiration during & after treatment.

GREATER THAN 60% OF BREAST CANCER SURVIVORS EXPERIENCE 1 OR MORE SIDE EFFECTS THAT COULD BE ALLEVIATED WITH REHABILIATION.

The photography to the right is compliments of Charise Isis; founder of The Grace Project.

The ultimate goal of the Grace project is to photograph 800 portraits, the approximate number of new breast cancer diagnosis in the U.S. every day.  Thus far, Charise has photographed well over 400 portraits towards this goal.  The exhibition portraits are printed on large format (36×54) silk banners which will eventually be exhibited together in one space to show the enormous impact of breast cancer.  Meanwhile smaller versions of the exhibition and artist talks are presented at galleries, museums, hospitals and cancer centers throughout the US as Charise continues to photograph portraits for the project.
